The short version: we can't see your screen, your keystrokes or your clipboard. They're encrypted end to end between your devices. We keep only what we need to run your account and the relay.
What we never collect
- What's on your computer's screen, what you type, or what you copy and paste. These are end-to-end encrypted and pass through our relay as ciphertext only.
- Your computers' pairing keys.
- Anything at all when you connect on your home network: those connections go straight from your device to your computer.
What we collect when you create an account

On your devices
The iPhone app keeps pairing keys in the iOS Keychain. The web app keeps them in your browser as non-extractable keys, and deletes them when you sign out. The web app stores your sign-in session and a few preferences (like stream quality) in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and the website doesn't load third-party trackers.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We use service providers to run Farhand: hosting and databases for our servers and relay, Apple for Sign in with Apple and App Store billing, and email for support. They process data only on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. Session usage records are kept to calculate monthly allowances and for aggregate capacity planning. When you delete your account, we delete your account, your computers and your usage records, and revoke your Sign in with Apple authorization.
Your choices
- Use Farhand on your home network without any account.
- Remove a computer from your account at any time.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete Account).
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, at privacy@farhandapp.com.
Children
Farhand isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app or on this page before it takes effect.
