Getting started
The app says the computer is offline
Check that the computer is on and awake, and that the Farhand host is running (on a Mac, look for the Farhand icon in the menu bar). Away from home you also need Pro or Ultra, and the computer must have been added while you were signed in. If it still shows offline, quit and reopen the host.
I see a black screen, or the mouse doesn't move
On a Mac, the host needs two permissions: Screen Recording (to see the screen) and Accessibility (to move the mouse and type). Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and turn both on for Farhand, then quit and reopen it. The Farhand menu has a shortcut: Set Up Permissions…
How do I add a computer to my account?
Sign in to the iPhone app with a Pro or Ultra plan (or a free trial), then scan the computer's QR code. It joins your account automatically. A computer added while you weren't subscribed joins as soon as your trial or subscription starts.
Farhand on the web
How do I use Farhand in a browser?
Go to farhandapp.com/app and sign in with the same Apple ID you use in the app. Choose Link this browser, then on your iPhone open Farhand → Settings → Link a Browser and scan the code. Your computers are ready to connect.
Why do I have to link the browser with my iPhone?
Your computers only accept devices that hold their pairing key, and Farhand's servers never have it. Linking sends the keys from your iPhone to this browser, encrypted so only this browser can open them. See Security.
Keyboard shortcuts in the browser
Most shortcuts go straight to your computer. By default ⌘ on a Mac and Ctrl on Windows both act as "the shortcut key", so ⌘C copies on a Windows PC and Ctrl+C copies on a Mac (turn this off in the ⋯ menu). A few shortcuts, like ⌘W and ⌘Q, belong to the browser. In full screen, Chrome and Edge pass them through (hold Esc to leave full screen), and the shortcut menu in the toolbar sends them too.
Copy and paste between the browser and the computer
Press ⌘V or Ctrl+V to paste what you copied on this device into the remote computer. After you copy on the remote computer (⌘C / Ctrl+C), Farhand puts it on this device's clipboard too. The clipboard button in the toolbar does both on request.
Can I use several computers at once in the browser?
Yes, open each one in its own tab. Pro allows 2 sessions at the same time and Ultra 5, counting your iPhone too.
I'm on a shared or public computer
Sign out when you're done (Account → Sign out). That removes this browser's keys for your computers.
Subscriptions
I subscribed, but the web app says I need Pro
Make sure you signed in on the web with the same Apple ID you use in the app. If you did, open the app once so it can confirm your purchase, then choose "Check again" on the web.
How do I cancel?
In the app, Settings → Manage Subscription, or in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, Settings → Delete Account. It removes your account, your computers and your usage history from our servers.
